Esports: THREAT to transition from Head Coach role

Changes at the top for THREAT

Bjorn "THREAT" Pers will no longer be the head coach of NIP after the conclusion of IEM Winter, the Swede has announced. Instead, he will move into the Technical Director role, within the organization.

Gambit are 11/4 to win the IEM Winter title, with Heroic at 5/1 and Fnatic at 16/1.

Tactical focus

The 33-year-old will become NIP's Counter-Strike Technical Director, to focus more on the tactical side of the game.

The impending change marks the end of THREAT's second sting coaching NIP. He previously led the team in 2016-2018 with their previous line-up of players, before stepping away from the game, only to return as the coach at the end of 2019 alongside Faruk "pita" Pita. He fully became in charge during the following season.

Despite THREAT's help from behind, NIP have struggled to secure title wins over the last two years, with their lone tournament win coming at IEM Fall Europe. A runner-up finish in Flashpoint 3 also helped the team to secure a berth at PGL Major Stockholm, where they reached the quarterfinals before being knocked out by G2.
