Brisbane Roar have boosted their ranks for the 2021/22 A-League season with the addition of former Socceroos wide man Nick Olsen.

With the new season just weeks away Roar are still adding to their ranks and the arrival of Olsen will give them even more strength in depth.

Kuwait spell

The 26-year-old moved away from Australia for a two-year spell in Kuwait where he spent time with Al-Jahra SC and then Khaitan SC, but is now heading back home.

Olsen is a versatile performer and can play as a left winger or wing-back, giving head coach Warren Moon plenty of options.

Olsen is delighted to have completed the move and cannot wait for the season to get started.

"I'm happy to be here and happy to have a chance to play in the A-League," Olsen said.

"I've been overseas for three years, so I felt like it was the right time for me to come back home and give myself a shot here.

"I'm feeling good. I feel ready to go physically but of course I've still got a lot to work on. It will take a little bit of time to gel with the boys but they've been very welcoming."

Over the Moon

Moon is also pleased to get the deal done and is in no doubt the player's versatility will be a big bonus in the season ahead.

"We're pleased to welcome Nick back to Australia and look forward to seeing him show what he can do with this opportunity," he told the club's website.

"He's a technically and tactically adept player and we like what he brings to the squad with his left foot. It's important to have options across the pitch and Nick gives us that nice flexibility."
