NRL: Egan pens new Warriors deal
New Zealand Warriors have announced hooker Wayde Egan has committed his future to the club by penning a new two-year contract.
The Warriors are priced at 30/1 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and it will be a relief to get a deal for the talented 24-year-old locked away.
Egan was due to fall off contract at the end of the 2022 NRL season and a host of rival clubs have been showing an interest in him.
However he is going nowhere after the Warriors tied him down to the deal that will stretch until the end of the 2024 NRL season.

"We're really excited to have Wayde with us for a further two years," Warriors general manager football Craig Hodges told the club's website.
"He impressed throughout the season giving us real consistency with his work at hooker.
"We like what he brings to the squad and to the club as a whole with his work ethic as well as his attitude off the field where he has a passion for community causes."
Egan was a star performer in the 2021 NRL season when playing in 20 of their 24 games, scoring three tries in the process.
And coach Nathan Brown is delighted to keep him.
"What's really impressive about Wayde is the way he's always looking to improve his game," Brown added.
"He gave us tremendous value this year, performing consistently well and standing out as one of our best players across the season."
